Library closed through March 29
MOUNTAIN HOME, ARK. – Effective Tuesday, March 17, the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County will be closed to the public and all programs will be cancelled through March 29, 2020 in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.
According to Library Director Kim Crow Sheaner, this decision was made in light of Governor Asa Hutchinson’s closure of Arkansas schools and the CDC’s recommendation to avoid public interaction and gatherings of 50 or more people. The Library is working in coordination with Baxter County Government to ensure the safety of Baxter County residents.
The book return at the Library will not be available for use during the closure. No late fees will be assessed through April 13 on items currently checked out. All items on hold will remain on hold until the Library reopens. Patrons can still check out electronic items such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and more on the Library’s website at www.baxlib.org.
Library operations will continuously be evaluated as the situation develops.
