Calico Rock, AR. – An individual from Baxter County was found dead last week after a fatal accident involving a firearm.
This event began with emergency responders being called to a residence on Baxter County Road 74 near Calico Rock on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 6th. According to reports, 3 men were loading a vehicle onto a trailer, and at some point one of the men picked up a holster with a firearm inside. The firearm discharged, striking the man who picked it up.

The victim was identified as Golden Reed Stowers, 44 of Calico Rock, who succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
In response to this event were the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the Lone Rock Fire Department, and medical personnel from Baxter Health and Air-Evac.
