The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office had a busy but overall uneventful Memorial Day weekend. The Sheriff’s Office logged:
98 calls for service which included 15 domestic violence calls.
Assisted the Arkansas State Police with 7 accidents
Issued 30 traffic warnings
Issued 14 traffic citations
21 people were booked in the Detention Center
6 – for DWI (Driving or Boating While Intoxicated)
2 – Driving on a suspended driver’s license
1 – Drug charges
1 – for domestic violence
1 – Battery 3rd degree
1 – Violation of a no-contact court order
2 – warrants of arrest
3- serve court ordered jail sentences
There was a hiker reported lost in the Barkshed Recreational area of the National Forest Saturday evening. He was located mid-day on Sunday unharmed.
