Baxter County Sheriff Receives Grant Money for Mobile Data Computers Inside Patrol Cars

Mountain Home, AR. – The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has received grants recently that are intended to fund the purchase and use of mobile data computers inside the patrol vehicles.

The grant was made available via the Arkansas State Police’s FY 2023 Highway Safety Federal Subgrant Program. This program is intended to fund projects from organizations that aid in increasing safety on roadways. The amount of money the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office gained for the purpose of new computers was $107,160, and this grant money will have to be matched in the value of 10%.

These computers will allow for better communication and information retrieval for working law enforcement, which includes the Arkansas and National Crime Information Center databases.

The grant will allow for 17 Sheriff’s Office vehicles to be equipped with computers, printers, scanners, docking stations, and other devices.
