Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Absconder on Multiple Charges

Mountain Home, AR. – A man from Grand Rapids, MI. was arrested earlier this week after causing a disturbance and being found to be a parole absconder, according to a recent address to the public released by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.

This event started on Wednesday, April 3rd on Dupont Lane in the Whiteville area. Deputies responded to a call made by a victim who stated that a man by the name of Carl Vannatter, an alleged parole absconder, had argued with the resident and then kicked down the door before fleeing after the victim contacted 911.

Vannatter was confirmed to be an absconder and was later found and stopped in a vehicle displaying plates from Montana. Inside the vehicle, a handgun, a bag of suspected methamphetamine, and various articles of drug paraphernalia were found.

Vannatter was arrested on multiple charges.

Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons – Felony
Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms – Felony
Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree – Misdemeanor
Possession of Open Alcohol Container in Vehicle – Misdemeanor
Parole Violation Absconder – Arkansas Division of Community Corrections
Probation Violation Absconder – United States Marshal Service

His bond was set at $25,000, but is also being held without bond for violation of his parole. He is scheduled to appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court on April 15th.
