Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Receives Additional Equipment for Patrol Cars

Mountain Home, AR. – The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has recently managed to upgrade equipment in their patrol cars after receiving a grant from the Arkansas Highway Safety Office and local donation match.

The upgrade to equipment comes in the form of Mobile Data Computers (MDC’s), scanners, printers, and mounting racks. Patrol vehicles will now be outfitted with these devices to make officers capable of issuing traffic citations, warnings, and accident reports on-scene.

These new MDC’s will also soon be equipped with software to allow law enforcement to access Sheriff’s Office records, and databases for both the Arkansas and National Crime Information Centers.

This grant was set up to procure up to 17 of the previously mentioned computers, and the local grant match was provided by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation. The BCSF is a non-profit that was founded for the express purpose of providing support to the Sheriff’s Office and its employees.
