Baxter County Woman Arrested for Striking Developmentally Disabled 3-year-old

Mountain Home, AR. – A Mountain Home woman was arrested last Friday by authorities on a charge of Domestic Battery after striking a developmentally disabled 3-year-old multiple times.

A quick look at the arrest report with the Baxter County Sheriff shows 30-year-old Heidi Cobler was arrested by the Mountain Home Police Department, with the probable cause affidavit outlining a story of abuse. The affidavit states that this arrest comes about as a result of video evidence where Cobler, the victim’s step-mother, struck them in the head and then spanked the child for crying.

This information was given to the Sheriff’s Office by a Department of Child and Family Services agent, who went on to say that the child is capable of using only 3 words as a result of their disability.

Cobler is being held on a bond of $25,000.
