Mountain Home, AR. – The office of Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced last week that over $4 million will be going between two Baxter Health hospitals through a sustainability program.
This money comes via The Rural Hospital Sustainability Program as a way to help small-town healthcare facilities maintain long-term success. Hospitals that participate in the program are eligible for funding to support through a operational change.
As a result of this program, Baxter Regional Medical in Mountain Home is set to receive $1,835,647, and Fulton County Hospital, which was recently taken over by Baxter Health, will be receiving $2,500,000.
Hospitals that receive these funds are required to use them for things not associated with legal fees, debt services, tax obligations, pension funding, or court settlement payments.
