BBB warns local business of bogus text messages

West Plains, MO – The Better Business Bureau is wanting to warn of bogus text messages. Multiple business in West Plains reported to the BBB of a text message reading “Your $1,400 is now available from Wal-Mart Covid-19 relief program. Kindly apply on the link below”. This scam comes as many people are getting Child Tax Credit payments and scammers are looking to take advantage of that.

Ozark Radio News spoke to Regional Director Stephanie Garland about this scam.
