The Better Business Bureau warns of possible scammers with the approach of Independence Day on July 4th.
BBB has more than 1,500 charity scams in the last six years with 287 of those mentioning police officers and 30 mentioning fire fighters. With a seasonal rise in patriotic fundraisers, scammers will target those willing to give to organizations that help protect our society. Beware of unsolicited text messages, emails, and phone calls that mention fundraisers or charities.
