Biden Drops Out Of Presidential Race And Endorses Harris To Take His Place: Voters Say He Should Not Be Able To Finish His Term

Missouri – Today, Sunday, July 21, 2024, President Joe Biden has announced that he will not be running for reelection in the presidential campaign. The decision was made after pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step aside following the June 27 debate. During this debate, Biden struggled to finish sentences, gave confused looks, and fumbled with answers. Biden has also announced his plans to serve out the remainder of his term in office, which will end at noon on January 20, 2025.

More than 30 Democratic lawmakers had told Biden to stand down as the nominee and pass the torch to another candidate, saying he could not win in November and would risk the Democrats’ foot in the White House. The president acknowledged multiple times after the June debate that he had a bad night, where his aides said he had a cold.

Republican voters are arguing that if President Joe Biden is unable to serve another term, he should have to step down from office now and not finish out his remaining months in office. Some Republicans have also indicated they could look to file legal challenges if Democrats try to switch Biden off the ballot, though no law prevents a change from being made ahead of filing deadlines.

In a letter written by President Joe Biden, he stated, ” I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.” President Joe Biden did decide to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place as the nominee in the election but democrats and voters have announced there will likely by other politicians fighting to replace Biden.
