Alton Bank, working in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, has announced that the City of Birch Tree has received a $20,000 grant through the Member Impact Fund. The matching‑grant program supports community projects that strengthen local housing, business development, and economic needs.
City officials say the funding will be used to upgrade community parks with improved lighting for nighttime safety, new fencing around playground equipment, enhancements to existing play structures, and construction of a pedestrian crosswalk connecting the city’s two parks without requiring residents to use a major roadway. Leaders say the improvements will create safer, more accessible spaces for children and families while encouraging greater community engagement.
