West Plains, MO. – A Boil Advisory has been issued to businesses located at 1324 Mitchell Road, 1401 – 1411 Mitchell Road, 1805 Bruce Smith Parkway and 1411-1449 Preacher Roe Boulevard. The advisory is the result of low water pressure following a vehicle accident which damaged a fire hydrant.
A boil water advisory is issued when there is concern that a problem with drinking water may exist but has not yet been confirmed. These are most commonly issued for major water main breaks or other low-pressure events where the possibility of contamination intrusion exists. They may also be issued while waiting for results of confirmation samples collected for bacteriological analysis, which can take up to two days plus the time required to transport samples to the laboratory.
Water samples have been sent to the state for testing.
