West Plains, MO. – A teen from Brixey is in serious condition after a Tuesday afternoon crash in Ozark County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred on County Road 154 at 5:22 p.m.
A 14-year-old male was driving a Honda CRF 230 eastward when the vehicle crossed the center of the road and struck a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Charlie Bailey, age 59 of Gainesville, head-on.
Bailey was uninjured in the crash, but the teen was seriously injured in the crash. The juvenile was taken by Air Evac helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. The teen had not been wearing a safety device.
Under Missouri law, a person under the age of 15 is not eligible to obtain an instruction permit and should not drive.
