The 37th Judicial Circuit has new media coordinators.

Ozark Radio Network news director Ed Button and West Plains Daily QUill general manager and managing editor Allison Wilson were appointed the new media coordinators of the circuit covering Howell, Oregon, Shannon, and Carter counties by the Missouri Supreme Court earlier this month. Their responsibilities include handling requests for in-court media coverage, with Button handling broadcast and digital media requests and Wilson handling print and photography.

Wilson told Ozark Radio News that it’s an honor to have been chosen.

“As a former court reporter I know the importance of having camera and video capabilities especially on the really big court cases. As the media, we are the eyes and ears for our readers and our listeners and our viewers online. Having photographs and video in the courtroom is an extremely crucial part of letting our readers and viewers and listeners know what’s going on in these big cases.”

Button added that he’s looking forward to working with the local judicial circuit and working with other media outlets in the future:

“I’m really excited for this opportunity. As Allison mentioned the media is the eyes and ears of the public and we’re there to not only report what happened inside the courtroom but to maybe help them better understand the inner workings of how things go on and to give the people a front-row seat, essentially. So again, very exicted for this new opportunity to not only work with the local judicial circuit but with our media partners in the region.”

Button is an award-winning broadcast journalist who has worked for the Ozark Radio Network since beginning his career in radio in 2009. Wilson has been the general manager for the paper for the past few years and has held several positions at the Quill since joining the paper in 2002.
