On Saturday, October 24, 2020 at approximately 11:13 a.m. West Plains Police Officers Kevin White and Chris Barrett were working a security detail at the West Plains Civic Center for the TLR Gun and Knife show when they were advised a firearm had been stolen from a vendor at the gun show.
Officer White and Barrett quickly launched an investigation during which they reviewed Civic Center surveillance footage. Surveillance footage showed a female subject removing the firearm from the vendor’s table and walking away with the firearm.
Officer Barrett located the female outside of the West Plains Civic Center, immediately placed her under arrest without incident, and recovered the firearm from her possession.
The female, identified as 47-year-old Rachel Gray of San Leandro, California, was transported to the Howell County Detention Center and charges were forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
