WEST PLAINS, Mo. – On Saturday, Feb 15, two students at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) will be crowned the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen.
The crowning will take place during halftime ceremonies of the annual homecoming basketball game between the Grizzlies and the Mineral Area College Cardinals.
The game will get underway at 7 p.m. in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center.
King candidates include:
- Mo Totty, West Plains, sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA)
- Ryan Steinbrink, Plato, sponsored by Christian Campus House (CCH)
- Walker Loveland, Sparta, sponsored by the Grizzly Basketball Team
- Heath Johnson, West Plains, sponsored by the Student Ambassadors
- Seth Roush, West Plains, sponsored by ASCEND
Queen candidates are:
- Autumn Collins, West Plains, Student Government Association (SGA)
- Jayanna Draper, Lynchburg, sponsored by Christian Campus House (CCH)
- Aubrey Hull, Essex, sponsored by the Grizzly Cheer Team
- Kennedy Eckley, Vienna, sponsored by the Student Ambassadors
- Rylee Rather, Mountain Home, AR, sponsored by ASCEND
Candidate reception
Area residents can visit with all the homecoming candidates during a special “meet and greet” reception at 6 p.m. in the civic center’s Dogwood Room.
Also in attendance will be the 2022 Homecoming King and 2024 Homecoming Queen, Jackson Wright, West Plains and Melia Wiehe, West Plains.
Organizers said the 2025 king and queen will be crowned by Wright and Wiehe, respectively, and the queen will receive flowers from Chancellor Dennis Lancaster.
Following the crowning, the 2025 king, queen and court will go to the civic center’s Dogwood Room for photos and refreshments.

Grizzly Homecoming Gathering
MSU-WP alumni and friends are invited to attend a gathering at KC’s Sports Bistro, 409 Washington Ave., prior to the annual Grizzly Homecoming basketball game Feb. 15.
The casual, come-and-go celebration is designed for alumni and friends to reconnect and engage with each other, organizers said. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and happy hour drink specials featuring Grizzly cocktails will be served.
The first 50 guests will receive a free ticket to cheer on the Grizzlies, while the first 100 guests will receive exclusive Grizzly swag, perfect for showcasing that Grizzly pride, organizers said.
The event is free; however, those planning to attend are encouraged to register at Alumni.MissouriState.edu/GrizzlyGathering.
