Carter County Sheriff Alonzo Bradwell says the department has secured two grants that will bring new equipment and nearly $30,000 in funding to the county without affecting local taxpayers.
The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety grant will provide a portable breathalyzer and two trauma medical kits for deputies. The county also received Blue Shield designation for the second time, awarding $28,985.50 for essential law‑enforcement equipment.
Bradwell says he’ll continue pursuing outside funding to strengthen the Sheriff’s Office and improve safety for deputies and residents, thanking both partners for their support.
