West Plains, MO. – Two people from Caulfield have been arrested following a traffic stop in eastern Douglas County. Brandon Clapp, age 24, and Megan Loftis, age 32, were arrested by Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase on December 13, 2022.
Sheriff Degase had stopped a suspicious vehicle in Gentryville on the night of the 13th. While approaching the driver, Brandon Clapp, the sheriff noticed Clapp had a pistol in his hoodie pocket pointed at him. Clapp, Loftis, and a passenger who was not charged were removed from the vehicle by the Sheriff and a deputy, and were arrested.
In a search, Loftis and Clapp were found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and Clapp also possessed opioids.
Clapp has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful use of a Weapon – Possession a weapon and a felony controlled substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Prior Drug Offense. Ozark Radio News was unable to find a prior drug offense in online court documents. He was released on $2,500 bond with stipulations.
Loftis has been charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was being held on $1,500 bond with stipulations.
