Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood and plasma to patients at more than 40 area healthcare facilities, reports a critical shortage of all blood types. While the blood needs for area patients have increased this month, mobile blood drive cancellations continue. As a result, any mobile blood drives that remain scheduled become vitally important.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March, more than 7,500 donations have been lost. Houston area residents will have the opportunity to donate at the following location:
Houston, MO
Friday, June 12 – 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm
First Christian Church – Basement
202 E. State Route 17
Donors are strongly encouraged to make an appointment to give in order to maintain social distancing guidelines. To make an online appointment for this drive, go to https://donate.cbco.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/125329. CBCO will also continue to focus on getting blood donors to make an appointment to give at donor center locations in Springfield, Joplin, Bentonville and Springdale. Donors may make that appointment online at https://donate.cbco.org/donor/schedules/centers.
On behalf of local hospital patients, CBCO thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
