A crash occurred in Ellsinore on North Herring Street, just south of Branch Street. The incident involved a 2013 Dodge Avenger and a 1989 Chevrolet Truck. The driver of the Dodge Avenger, a 64-year-old female from Ellsinore, was exiting the Bank of Grandin when she accidentally hit the accelerator pedal instead of the brake, striking the side of the Chevrolet Truck, which was traveling westbound. The truck ran off the right side of the roadway and into a field, while the Dodge continued westbound and came to rest in a yard.
The 93-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Truck from Ellsinore was unharmed, and the vehicle sustained minor damage. The Dodge Avenger driver was also uninjured and drove the vehicle from the scene. A 4-year-old male passenger in the Dodge Avenger sustained minor injuries and was transported by Carter County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.
