Child seriously injured in Friday crash

PLATO, Mo. — A child was seriously injured Friday afternoon after a one-vehicle accident in Texas County.

The accident happened around 2:30 pm on Highway 32 east of Plato, when the eastbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Kailyn Murphy of Plato ran off-road, went airborne, hit the ground and overturned, striking a fence.

Murphy suffered moderate injuries while a 6-year-old child was seriously injured. The child was not identified in a Highway Patrol report.

Both were taken to Mercy hospital in Lebanon.
