Christmas Events – Preparation, Parades, and More

With November now officially here, many organizations are preparing for Christmas, and events associated with the holiday will begin as soon as this weekend. Below, we’ve compiled a list of Christmas events happening in the Ozarks, and will continue adding and editing the article as we progress.

Houston

  • Miss Merry Christmas Pageant. December 7th, 2pm, at the Texas County Fairgrounds Community Building. 

Licking

  • Christmas in Licking. December 7th, 10am. The parade for the town will begin at 4pm, with the theme “Christmas Treats”.

Thayer/Mammoth Spring

  • Both towns will have their Christmas Parade’s on December 7th. For Thayer, it will begin at 2pm at the Thayer School. For Mammoth Spring, the parade will begin at 6pm at the Mammoth Spring School.

West Plains

  • Christmas Craft and Decor Show. November 7th through the 9th, starting at 9am each day. St. Paul Lutheran Church, 291 North Kentucky.
  • Rock for Tots. November 23rd at 8pm. West Plains Elks Lodge #2418. Cost of admission is a toy. Featured band is Thundershine.
  • The Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration will take place December 1st at 6pm around the Square.
  • 42nd Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show & Sale. December 7th & 8th at 8:30am and 10am. Located at the West Plains Civic Center. Admission is $3 per day.
  • Cookies with the Claus by the Boys and girls Club. Dec. 14th, 8:30am, at the West Plains Civic Center. Includes multiple activities.
