Texas County, MO. – An assault that took place on Christmas morning ended in the arrest of one man with two felony charges in play.
The probable cause affidavit states that investigation began when a Highway Patrolman responded to a call of an assault in progress at roughly 11:21am in Texas County.
A victim alleges that Paul Johnson, 24, had initially arrived at the victim’s residence around 5am that morning in an agitated state and was escorted off the property.
That morning, Johnson revisited the victims residence and attempted to forcibly enter. The resident then tried to fire a 12-gauge shotgun at Johnson when the firearm misfired, and an engagement ensued. Johnson eventually left the residence and later stated in a interview that he was attempting to speak to a female at the residence, and had been drinking rum prior to the incident.
Johnson was arrested on charges of 1st Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Domestic Violence, and Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony.
