West Plains, MO. – The Christos House’s annual Chocolate Festival will start again this weekend on Saturday from 6pm to 9pm at the West Plains Civic Center. This yearly project is performed as a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization. This year, the fund-raising aspect is going towards a specific project: shelter for those in need.
The Chocolate Festival happens annually, with this year marking it as number 18, and will host a variety of local foods and drinks from local artisans focusing on the theme of chocolate, as well as catering from Ruby Tuesdays. Live music will be performed, and there will also be a live and silent auction.
The major push for fundraising this year is, as previously stated, shelter for those in emergency situations. To go into more detail, tiny homes are being designed to contain families from both small to large to recover. While there currently is space for people to take shelter with Christos House, it is a shared dormitory-like space that does not provide a good space for those seeking shelter to have a controlled environment.
As Christos House applies for grants and sees the success of fundraisers such as this, this project will see progress step-by-step in the future.
To participate in the Chocolate Festival, you may inquire on and purchase tickets by calling 417-256-3408, or by visiting their office on 125 Jefferson Ave.
