City of Mountain Grove Issues Boil Water Advisory

Mountain Grove, MO. – The City of Mountain Grove, Missouri issued a boil advisory effective for the whole city after a water main rupture that ended school early for the Mountain Grove School System. Officials with the City have issued an official statement below.

Due to the water main rupture experienced earlier today, the City of Mountain Grove is issuing a Boil Water Advisory out of an abundance of caution.

We want to emphasize that this is a precautionary advisory, NOT a mandatory boil water order. Because the water main rupture resulted in a loss of water pressure, we are taking this precautionary step to protect the health and safety of our residents.

As a precaution, we recommend that residents:

– Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or preparing food.

– Allow boiled water to cool before use.

– Use bottled water as an alternative when available.

Our Public Works crews have been working diligently to address the water main issue and restore normal operations.

Again, this is an advisory issued as a precautionary measure, not a mandatory boil water order. We are simply encouraging residents to take additional precautions while we ensure the water system is safe.

The advisory will remain in effect until the City determines it can be safely lifted. We will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to resolve this situation.
