Mountain View, MO. – The City of Mountain View has recently been awarded funds from the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Community Development Block Grant(CDBG), in order to fix up Oak Street in front of the City Hall.
This information was shared via the City of Mountain View’s social media page, and outlines that improvements will include installing concrete box culverts, stormwater piping, inlets, and asphalt overlaying on the street to prevent flooding of the downtown area. The announcement also states that the construction bid was awarded to HR Quadri Contractors, LLC from Van Buren, MO.
These CDBG funds are made available to public entities for the improvement of local communities, provided they adhere to certain guidelines. The City of Mountain View stated that this grant required access to employment be provided to minorities and those of low income.
