City of Thayer Loses Power Over the Weekend

Thayer, MO. – On Sunday, July 14th, the City of Thayer lost power leaving many residents in a state of discomfort for the rest of the day.

In the early afternoon, the City of Thayer announced this outage was a result of a transformer in the care of Entergy blowing. This blow resulted in an estimated fix time of around 6-7 hours. However, power wasn’t restored until after midnight that night.

This restoration appears to have happened after some level of difficulty, with many residents discussing flickering power, and further outages. According to city officials, this is due to the large energy demand that occurred when power was restored.
