City of West Plains Announces Street Closure in Preparation for Eclipse

West Plains, MO. – We are now in the last full week of March, and April is almost here. This also means that the Great American Eclipse is just over a week away. The City of West Plains recently announced on their social media page that in preparation for Party in the Path, they will be closing a few streets.

These closures are expected to take place starting this Friday, March 29th. This will include several streets along the downtown area, and will keep them closed until after the eclipse has passed.

Closures are planned for intersections of Cass Avenue at Washington Avenue and Dixon Street at Washington Avenue, as well as a closure of Garfield Avenue between West Main Street and Cass Avenue.

These closures are being made as a way to attempt to increase pedestrian safety as increased volumes of people are expected on the road.
