Arkansas – With Christmas now come and gone, many will be left with the task of cleaning up after the holiday. This includes removing lights, cleaning the dishes after the big dinner, and of course, figuring out what to do with the tree. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission may have a suggestion.
Drop-off locations have been set up near US Army Corps of Engineers boat ramps on both Bull Shoals and Norfork Lake to accept your trees. From there, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission plan to use these trees to make nursery habitats for small fish.
In addition, individuals are also welcome to take trees from these locations to create their own fish shelters. Artificial trees will not be used and should not be donated.
