The National Weather Service in Springfield has released an updated forcast that includes colder temperatures and the potential for snow Wednesday Night into Thursday.
Light Fluffy Snow Accumulations Possible
Wednesday Night into Thursday
Hazards: Light Fluffy Snow Accumulations generally up to a dusting to less than one inch. A few slightly heavier bands
will have the potential to produce localized amounts of up to one to three inches for some.
Areas Impacted: Southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks.
Timing & Duration: Wednesday night into Thursday morning best accumulations potential but snow may linger into
the afternoon hours Thursday, especially across the eastern Ozarks.
Impacts: With cold temperatures in place the snow will likely stick as it falls. Some slick spots will be possible where the
snow packs down on the roadways which will be possible within any of the slightly heavier bands.
Certainty & Considerations: Confidence has increased that light snow will develop across much of the area.
There is the potential for some bands of snow to develop. Confidence is low on exactly where any of these bands will
develop and track. They could be narrow with sharp cut off in snow outside these bands.
