Arkansas and Missouri – Do you feel like helping children around the world and in your area this Christmas? Operation Christmas Child Collection Week is coming soon. Scheduled for November 18, 2024, through November 25, 2024, this week will give locals in Missouri and Arkansas a chance to give gifts to children without this Christmas.
Who runs this? Operation Christmas Child is run by Samaritans Purse. For 50 years, they have worked to help the suffering, needy, and the sick through acts of kindness. During the Christmas time of the year, they ask for shoebox donations.
What is a Shoebox Donation? To do a shoebox donation, the only thing you have to do is get a shoebox and fill it to the top with small gifts. Each box can be packed with toys, school supplies, and personal care items. Once packed, use a label to indicate if it was packed for a boy or girl and what age group you packed it for. Age groups include 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14. During collection week, you can drop it off at a drop-off location near you. From there, members of Operation Christmas Child will distribute the boxes to children so they can receive Christmas Presents of Christmas.
