WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Comedian and hypnotist David Anthony will entertain area residents at 7 p.m. April 20 West Plains Civic Center theater.
Tickets are $10 per person. Current Missouri State-West Plains students can attend free with their BearPass ID.

The performance is being sponsored by the Missouri State University-West Plains University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department.
U/CP officials remind that masks will be required, and social distancing protocols will be followed during the performance.
Anthony uses audience participation to create a show that’s entertaining for all ages, organizers said.
“Imagine the person sitting next to you just a few minutes ago is now up on stage unable to remember their name! Or better yet, one of your friends is up on the stage claiming their belly button was stolen! Then, with a snap of David’s fingers, they enter back into a hypnotic trance. Sounds entertaining, huh? This is just the beginning of what to expect in the show,” promoters said.
No one is forced to participate, promoters stressed. Only those who want to be hypnotized will be asked by Anthony to join him on stage.
Anthony perfected his show by training with seasoned performers and directors. He’s crossed the country and performed for a variety of audiences, big and small, all of whom have left the experience with tears of laughter, promoters said.
“We have never had a hypnotist disappoint and having one who doubles his performance with comedy makes it even better,” said U/CP Director Brenda Polyard. “David Anthony’s talent speaks for itself, so bring your friends and family with the promise of an incredible show!”
