Shannon County, MO. – Rumors of a mountain lion sighting in Shannon County have been confirmed by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
According to the reports page from the MDC, the confirmation occurred on the same day via the use of photos and other signs. The report states additionally than an adult elk was killed by the animal.
The MDC states in their warning on mountain lions that there is no substantive evidence that people, livestock, or pets have been attacked in Missouri, and that they are more likely at risk from traffic.
