Gainesville, MO. – A convicted felon who was out of prison less than two weeks was arrested on allegations of stalking and harassing teenage minors.
Andrew “Brent” Clay, age 23 of Gainesville, was arrested on charges of felony stalking and harassment and misdemeanor peace disturbance, and two counts of misdemeanor assault. He is being held without bond until further order of the court (Pursuant to Article 1 Section 32 of the Missouri Constitution).
The probable cause statement alleges that Clay began yelling and threatening two teenage minors at the Phillips 66 gas station on Jan. 27, 2024. The statement says Clay accused the boys of sleeping with his wife and “he better watch his back”. Clay was quoted of threatening to “shoot your car and turn it into Swiss cheese.” The teens reported to police they felt he wanted to fight the children.
The next incident occurred on Jan. 30th at the Gainesville Baseball fields. The same teen reported that Clay had drove to the fields and stared at him and his friends for a period of time before driving off.
Clay was arrested by the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 3rd and spoke to the police in post-Miranda interviews. Clay allegedly admitted he had been released from the Missouri Department of Corrections on Jan. 22nd and admitted to the incident at the gas station.
According to online court documents, Andrew “Brent” Clay had been serving time in prison for assault and unlawful use of a weapon charges.
