COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic deemed a success

Houston, MOTexas County Memorial Hospital held their COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic at the Texas County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, March 9. The event was held for individuals that received their first dose at the Texas County Fairgrounds on Friday, February 5.

TCMH vaccinated 1,000 people during the first large vaccination event, but only 930 returned for their second shot on Tuesday.

Wes Murray, chief executive officer at TCMH, expressed his gratitude to the Missouri National Guard, AmeriCorps, Texas County Technical College, and Texas County Health Department.

“TCMH could not have completed an event of this caliber as successfully as it transpired without the help of these volunteers,” Murray said.

“It was truly an honor for TCMH to serve our community by offering this opportunity,” Murray said.  “We received several compliments throughout the day in regards to how well organized and smoothly the event flowed.”

Murray also expressed a special thank you to McDonald’s, Hardees, Pizza Hut, and Houston House for providing food.

“The food was very appreciated by all the volunteers,” Murray said.
