Mountain View, MO – A police pursuit ends with a Summersville man in the hospital following a crash early Wednesday morning. The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Highway 60, 8 miles east of Mountain View, as Cpl. Trenton Roberts of the Mountain View Police Department was in pursuit of a 2003 Dodge Neon driven by Gary Gastineau, 32 of Summersville. Gastineau suddenly slowed his vehicle which was struck by the 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Cpl. Roberts. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and left the roadway.
Gastineau was not wearing his safety device and suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was airlifted to Cox Hospital in Springfield for treatment. There were no reported injuries for Cpl. Roberts.
