Crash near Hartville Fatally Injures 72-Year-Old Driver

Hartville, MO. – A driver has been fatally injured after being involved in a crash that occurred on the evening of Friday, July 28th.

The investigator of this fatal crash was Corporal S.J. Crewse of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.

A 72-year-old Springfield resident, identified as Leslie Post, was riding atop a Harley Davidson while travelling down Highway 38 in Wright County. Post was not wearing a helmet when he failed to navigate a curve roughly 9 miles East of Hartville. He travelled off the left side of the road, and overturned. The vehicle was totaled.

Post was pronounced deceased at 7:50pm by Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt. This marks Troop G’s 17th fatality for the year, compared to 15 this time last year.
