The drought conditions worsen as we enter the second half of September, and with no relief from temperatures and little to no rainfall forecast for the next week, conditions are likely to perpetuate in the coming days.
Dent County announced yesterday that they have added themselves to the growing list of counties that now are under a burn ban.

Other burn bans in our general area include Carter, Ripley, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Wright, and Shannon Counties.
Current drought maps from the US Drought Monitor show an expansion of D3 drought in Texas County, spilling out into Wright County now. In Arkansas, a maximum drought rating of D4 is present in Fulton County, slowly expanding into adjacent counties.
