Douglas County Man Adds Additional Charges to His Record by Assault Another Inmate

Ava, MO. – A man from Ava who had been incarcerated for previous domestic assault charges is seeing himself charged with an additional felony after he had assaulted a fellow inmate.

This information comes from a recent announcement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, who stated this event occurred at the beginning of last month.

A 42-year-old inmate from Ava, James Shea was witnessed following another inmate into a jail pod, with said inmate coming back out with bruises and noticeable bumps afterward. The victim was also seen trying to leave before Shea pulled him back into the sleeping area.

Shea is being charged with Class D Felony Domestic Assault, 2nd Degree. He was already being held in prison on two counts of the same charge for an incident that occurred on April 13th.
