Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department recently announced that they had taken part in an investigation into threats against the Ava School.
This investigation began when the FBI contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding a threatening message that was posted on a social media platform. Information on the one who had posted the threat was also given, and Lieutenant T. Wallace was assigned to the investigation.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, it was concluded that although a threat was made, it was determined that there was no planning or intent by the student to enact any violent actions.
About this investigation, Superintendent Aaron Dalton made the statement: “We appreciate the swift and thorough action of our local law enforcement in investigating this matter. All reports of this nature are taken seriously and investigated fully to ensure the safety of our students. The safety of our students and staff remains our number one priority.”
