Douglas County Sheriff’s Department searching for man wanted in burglary

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is once again looking for Dustin Huff. At approximately 5 a.m. this morning (01/04) Sheriff Degase responded to a burglary in progress west of Ava. Prior to Sheriff Degase’s arrival, Huff drove the owners vehicle into the house and then entered the residence where he demanded the owner give him a ring of keys.
Huff fled the residence on foot into a heavily wooded area just prior to Sheriff Degase’s arrival. Huff is currently on probation for a similar crime that occurred in July of 2018 where he was arrested for domestic assault, kidnapping, burglary, stealing and tampering with a motor vehicle.
Anyone who sees Huff or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriffs Office at 417-683-1020.
Huff is not believed to be armed at this time but due to his violent nature do not attempt to apprehend. Huff is considered a fugitive and anyone that assists Huff in anyway will be arrested.
