The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has distributed nearly 200 coats to students at Ava R‑1, Skyline, Plainview, and Ava Head Start.
Sheriff Chris Degase thanked sponsors, donors, and golfers for making the annual effort possible, along with Walmart of Ava for filling the coat orders. He also recognized Assessor Alicia Degase, the Ava Country Club board, and volunteers Izabella Degase and Shaylee Wilkerson for their work during the tournament.

Office staff Terri, Nicole, and Hailey coordinated orders with the schools, and Deputy Sam Evans handled lunch for the event. The department encourages residents to visit its page and acknowledge the sponsors who helped make the program a success.
