The West Plains School District Board of Education has appointed Dr. Amy Ross to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the 2022 – 2023 school year. The decision follows the appointment of Dr. Wesley Davis as the incoming Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Ross has served as the Director of Special Services and Federal Programs since 2018. Before becoming a director, Dr. Ross served as a special services coordinator since 2013. She has also served as a special education teacher at West Plains and Glenwood school districts and a social studies and ELA teacher at Dora School District.
“Dr. Ross is a great educator with over 20 years of experience in the classroom, a district leader, and a special services professional. The appointment will provide a smooth transition and stability for our schools. The promotion of Dr. Ross reflects that our school board recognizes and values high performance,” said Dr. Wesley Davis.
Dr. Ross holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master’s of Science in Education Administration, and a Specialist in Education Administration, all from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
Dr. Ross will begin her duties as assistant superintendent on July 1, 2022.
