West Plains, MO. – The West Plains R-VII School District is pleased to announce Dr. Joby Steele as the new West Plains Middle School principal for the 2024-2025 school year.
Dr. Steele is currently an assistant principal at the West Plains Elementary. He served as the Alton High School principal from 2013 to 2023. Before his position in Alton, he was a West Plains High School assistant principal from 2009-2012 and a West Plains Middle School assistant principal from 2008-2009.
Dr. Steele holds a Doctorate in Education Administration from Lindenwood University. He also has a Master of Education degree from William Woods University and a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University.
“Dr. Steele’s extensive educational leadership and deep understanding of the district is key to ensuring a seamless transition and sustained stability for our schools, making him an excellent choice for the position,” said Dr. Wesley Davis, Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Steele will begin his new role on July 1st, 2024.
