The National Weather Service has released their latest DSS Packet regarding drought conditions across the area, and it appears that overall, the drought appears to be steadily lessening.
To summarize, as it stands, we are now experiencing a D0 drought within most of the listening area, putting us out of “true” drought status. However, some northern sections of Wright, Texas, and Shannon counties are still under a D1 level drought.
With rainfall occurring over the past few days, and more to come next week, we could just see a total relief of drought conditions, despite being common in recent years.
