Willow Springs, MO – A drunk driver caused a three vehicle accident and injured 3 people Sunday night in Willow Springs.
The incident occurred around 7:35 PM at the intersection of 137 and Main Street. An uninsured 1990 Chevrolet K1500 driven by Luke Riley, 33 of Willow Springs, was traveling south on 137 and failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle struck the front of an eastbound 2006 Toyota Highlander driven by Tracy Trude, 48 of Willow Springs. The Highlander struck a stop sign, several mailboxes, and a parked 2006 Chrysler Town & Country before coming to a stop.
Trude suffered serious injuries and her two juvenile female passengers, ages 5 and 9, suffered minor injuries. Trude and her passengers were taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare. Riley suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. Riley was charged with three counts of Felony Second Degree Assault and Driving While Intoxicated.
Trude and her passengers were wearing safety devices. It is unknown if Riley was wearing a safety device.
