New Madrid, MO. – Less than a week after posting our previous article on an upcoming Missouri “Shakeout” earthquake drill, an earthquake was detected by the United States Geological Survey.
This earthquake that was detected is said to have occurred in Southeast Missouri near New Madrid, MO. It happened at roughly 1:42pm on September 16th. The depth recorded was 11.6km. The magnitude was 2.7.
Revisiting information on the upcoming October earthquake drill, you can sign up by going online to shakeout.org/centralus. This drill was put together for the purpose of preparing those near the New Madrid Seismic zone in Southeast Missouri.
