Drury, MO. – The Eastern Douglas County Volunteer Fire Department recently received a grant from MoDOT that will allow them to make some much needed improvements to their operations.
This grant goes out to organizations who make efforts to improve the safety of Missouri roadways. The grant being received totals to around $37,000.
The fire department says this grant money will be going towards various tools such as the jaws of life, traffic cones, and an 18-hour training course for members of their department.
Fire Chief Chris Hammett says these tools will be a great benefit, allowing “one or two people can do the job of what it used to take 4 or 5 people”.
