Licking, MO. – An elderly inmate of the South Central Correctional Center was found dead Monday afternoon of apparent natural causes.
Inmate Larry Scowden, age 75, was serving a 5-year sentence for statutory sodomy from Green County. Scowden was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to molesting a boy under the age of 12. The probable cause statement alleges Scowden molested a boy under the age of 12 between the summers of 2019 and 2020 and had propositioned two other underage boys.

Scowden was found deceased at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
